The KIUT Library

The Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) library services is an academic directorate which offers variety of information services to support and meet the information needs of students, researchers and staff members of the University. All library user categories are encouraged and advised to utilize the library services available.

The KIUT library service is gifted with highly academic and professional personnel who work hard to satisfy users’ needs. This is attained by being a sympathetic, innovative and efficient management to effect the improvement of the library services and resources.

Vision

KIUT Library services aspire to be “a world class state of the art” Information Resources Center of Excellence in the word.

Mission

To make the future bright for KIUT library Users getting them where they want to be in the global job market through information, Inspirations and Imaginations! The Library is user- centered and delivers the most up-to-date and appropriate information and services on and off-line.

User Training

The library services conduct Information Literacy sessions to enable its users efficiently access and exploit the resources available. Users are trained in searching skills, accessing and evaluating information sources. The purpose of this programme is to improve effective online research strategies that will help library users to create effective use of online databases. Library professional staff are in charge of teaching and provides technical skills to trainees who attend the training programmes.
